New to Charlotte?
Charlotte may be the second largest banking center in the country after New York City, but there’s so much more to the Queen City than white collars and whale belts.
As the third fastest growing big city in the United States behind only Seattle and Austin, Texas, Charlotte’s ever-evolving culture scape offers a fresh experience for those moving here for the first time, as well as the many Charlotteans who have returned to raise their kids in their beloved hometown. As much as the city has changed in the past 15 years (just ask any local), there’s still even more to look forward to, and you get to be here to grow with it!
Craft breweries, charter schools, live music venues, and community gardens are sprouting up and fitting in as seamlessly as our native rhododendrons, making Charlotte a modular mecca for families, couples, and young professionals just starting out. Whether you love the uptown urban lifestyle or prefer a quiet, historic tree-lined street oozing Southern charm, you’re sure to find an area that speaks to you.
Let’s not forget the only-in-Charlotte, puffing-with-pride attractions like our Carolina Panthers, the U.S. National Whitewater Center, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, NASCAR Hall of Fame, and our still-new-to-us uptown Charlotte Knights ballpark.
And then there’s the food. Ask five different locals about Charlotte’s best barbecue, pizza joint, and tacos, and you’ll get five different — albeit equally delicious — answers (but really for the record, it’s Kyle Fletcher’s, Hawthorne’s, and Krazy Fish).
Living in a city you truly love is like having another member of your family. There’s a certain pride in watching it grow, seeing others discover what you love about it, and then watching them fall in love with it, too.
